The SAP® C_CPE certification checks whether you can actually design and build extension applications with the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), not merely talk about them. It centers on the side-by-side extensibility approach on SAP BTP, where a CAP service extends an existing SAP application such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud without modifying the core. The scope runs end to end: setting up a CAP project, modeling data and services with Core Data Services and the OData protocol, generating an SAP Fiori elements user interface, adding custom business logic and event handling, securing the app with authorization and trust management, consuming external services, deploying to the Cloud Foundry runtime, and integrating the result into SAP Build Work Zone. Because it is delivered as a System-Based Assessment with a single hands-on activity, the exam rewards applied execution in a working environment rather than isolated recall, and it targets a backend developer who can also guide teammates.
