Independent, reasoning-first practice for the SAP® C_FIORD Fiori Application Developer certification, built for the 2026 Scenario-Based Assessment format.
Who it's for: Frontend developers — and web developers moving into SAP UI work — who want a recognized associate credential proving they can build, bind, and extend SAP Fiori applications with SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori elements as a mentored member of a development project team.
The SAP® C_FIORD certification checks whether you can actually develop SAP Fiori applications as a frontend developer, not merely describe the framework. It spans the full SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori elements toolchain — Fiori fundamentals and architecture, loading and structuring apps through modules and components, building views, controllers, controls, and fragments, wiring data through models, data binding, and OData services, adding localization, implementing routing and navigation, and adapting or extending annotation-driven List Report and Object Page floorplans built on CAP and ABAP RAP. Because it is delivered as a Scenario-Based Assessment, the exam rewards applied judgment: you work through a realistic development scenario rather than answer a long bank of isolated recall questions. It is an entry-level certification for the frontend developer profile, building on formal SAP training and ideally some mentored project experience, at project-participation depth.

The blueprint areas to focus your preparation on.
Understanding SAP Fiori from both the end-user and technical sides — the launchpad and its personalization, the user-interface and data-service technologies, the underlying ABAP platform and SAP S/4HANA architecture, and how Fiori content, catalogs, spaces, and pages are managed, migrated, and activated.
Bootstrapping and initializing the SAPUI5 runtime, defining and consuming modules, and structuring an application through components and the declarative API so the app loads cleanly and stays organized as it grows.
Building the user interface with XML views and their controllers, arranging screens with layout controls and control densities, and reusing UI parts through XML fragments that are instantiated where they are needed.
Wiring data into the UI through models and aggregation and element binding, applying data types, formatter functions, sorting, filtering, and expression binding, reading and creating entities via an OData model, and translating texts with a resource model for localization.
Enabling routing and navigating between hard-coded and parameterized routes, handling back navigation and invalid hashes, and implementing full-screen and list-detail application patterns including responsive FlexibleColumnLayout behavior across device types.
Creating annotation-driven applications with SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools over OData V4 — List Report, Object Page, and Analytical List Page floorplans built on CAP and ABAP RAP services — and configuring filter bars, tables, header areas, and navigation.
Extending apps through custom controls, the flexible programming model, extension points, building blocks, and controller extensions; ensuring quality with QUnit unit tests, OPA5 integration tests, and Git version control; and applying the SAPUI5 golden rules and SAP Fiori design guidelines within the launchpad.
The SAP learning-journey courses this certification draws on.
Learning the Basics of SAP Fiori
The foundational overview course — introduces the technologies used with SAP Fiori from the end-user, technology, and architecture perspectives, plus content management, migration, administration, and runtime adaptation of the Fiori launchpad.
Developing UIs with SAPUI5
Builds foundational SAPUI5 skills for developers already familiar with HTML and JavaScript — loading and initializing the framework, modules, views and controllers, components, controls and fragments, models and data binding, localization, the OData model, and routing and navigation, with hands-on exercises.
Advanced SAPUI5 Development
Covers advanced techniques for building SAP Fiori user experiences — full-screen and list-detail application patterns, extending and creating custom controls and libraries, metadata-driven and smart controls, the flexible programming model, unit and integration testing with QUnit and OPA5, and Git version control.
Developing an SAP Fiori Elements App Based on a CAP OData V4 Service
Guides developers through building and enhancing an SAP Fiori elements application on an OData V4 service using SAP Fiori tools and the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model — templates, filter bars, actions, table content, object-page headers and bodies, dynamic field control, the flexible programming model, navigation, and the analytical list page.
Getting Started with Creating an SAP Fiori Elements App Based on an OData V4 RAP Service
Introduces SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools by building an application on an OData V4 service created with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model — CDS annotations, list report and object page floorplans, tables, navigation, the flexible programming model, and deployment, across many hands-on exercises.
UI Development with SAP Fiori
An advanced course on applying SAP Fiori standards on top of the SAPUI5 framework — the golden rules, the launchpad and its technical perspective and configuration, cross-application navigation, Fiori design guidelines, and extending existing Fiori apps through SAPUI5 flexibility.
Reading is step one — the 2026 System-Based Assessment rewards hands-on fluency. Train with original, performance-style scenarios and skill drills built for this exam.
